At Southwest Family Eye Health Center, we often use vision therapy as a way to help our patients thrive in their everyday lives. Below, our team shares a patient success story in which we were able to help a 40 year old woman (C.M.) with dyslexia and ADHD by creating a comprehensive vision therapy plan to target her visual system and improve overall visual function. C.M.'s journey is a testament to how vision therapy can alleviate symptoms and enhance the quality of life for those struggling with these conditions.
Managing ADHD and Dyslexia with Vision Therapy
C.M. Upon arrival at our office, C.M. expressed concerns about visual fatigue, balance issues, and a longstanding history of feeling "clumsy." Following a thorough neuro-vision evaluation with our optometrist, we could put together a comprehensive vision therapy plan for her that involved several exercises, including:
- Senaptec Sensory Station
- VTS4 Program/Vectograms
- Anti-Suppression Therapy
- Balance Board Exercises
- Interactive Metronome
After 16 therapy sessions with us, C.M. reported life changing improvements. She felt much less eye fatigue during and after work, better eye tracking when playing the piano (one of her favorite pastimes), improved eye-hand coordination, and noticeably better balance. And she wasn’t clumsy anymore!
